Flange Facers

Flange facing is a machining maintenance service conducted on flange surfaces. Timely maintenance and repair of flanges help avoid leakages and corrosion. These services ensure old flanges continue to maintain joint integrity between them.

EZlink offers both ID and OD mounting flange facing machines. In ID mounting, clamp legs inside of the machine are placed inside the flange. In OD, the clamp legs are pushing inwards with the machine externally mounted around the flange.

EZLINK’s reliable flange facers are easy to use for resurfacing pipe and tube flanges, with no special training required. Our flange Facers can make all common flange surface finishes; stock, phonographic or smooth finish. Surface finish depends on the selected facing tool and feed screw. Moreover Power source can be electric, pneumatic, hydraulic as well as manual.

FAQ

A Flange Facer is a specialized tool used for the machining of flanges on pipes, valves, and other components. It is used to create a smooth, flat surface on the face of a flange, which helps ensure a leak-free connection.

A: Portable flange facers can be classified based on its driving mode: manual flange facer, electric servomotor flange facer, pneumatic flange facer, and hydraulic flange facer
Classified based on its installation method: ID Flange facer and OD Flange Facer.

The choice of Flange Facer depends on the application and the level of precision required.

A: A Flange Facer works by rotating a cutting tool against the surface of the flange, removing material until the surface is smooth and flat. The tool is usually mounted on a rotating spindle that can be adjusted for speed and depth of cut.
A: The portable Flange Facing machines can be used to machine a variety of materials, including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and even plastic. The type of material being machined will affect the choice of cutting tool and cutting speed.
A: The advantages of using a Flange Facer:
  1. Cost-effective: The portable flange facer is a cost-effective alternative to flange replacement, saving you money and reducing downtime.
  2. Improved safety: Regular maintenance of flange faces is crucial for the safe operation of your plant. The ezlink portable flange facing machine helps ensure that your flanges are in specification, reducing the risk of leaks and improving safety.
  3. Increased efficiency: Properly maintained flange faces can improve the efficiency of your plant.
By creating a smooth, flat surface on the face of the flange, a Flange Facer helps prevent leaks and ensures a reliable connection.
Choosing the right Flange Facer for your application involves several factors. Here are some things to consider:
  1. Size and type of flange: The size and type of flange you are machining will determine the size and type of Flange Facer you need. Make sure to choose a tool that is appropriate for the size and shape of the flange.
  2. Material being machined: Different materials require different cutting tools and cutting speeds. Make sure to choose a Flange Facer that is appropriate for the material you are machining.
  3. Precision requirements: Depending on your application, you may require a high level of precision when machining the flange. Look for a Flange Facer that is designed to provide the level of precision you need.
  4. Budget: Flange Facers are available at a range of price points, so it’s important to consider your budget when making a choice. However, it’s important not to sacrifice quality for cost savings, as a low-quality Flange Facer may not perform reliably or provide the level of precision you need.
  5. Manufacturer reputation: Choose a Flange Facer from a reputable manufacturer with a track record of providing high-quality, reliable tools. Look for a manufacturer that offers technical support and service to help ensure that your tool performs optimally over time. Enerpac, Climax, Ezlink Portable are reliable manuafactures in the field.
  6. Customization options: Depending on your application, you may require a customized Flange Facer. Look for a manufacturer that offers customization options to ensure that you get a tool that is tailored to your specific needs.
  7. Safety features: Flange Facers can be dangerous if not used properly, so it’s important to choose a tool that incorporates appropriate safety features, such as guards and emergency stop switches. Look for a tool that complies with relevant safety standards and regulations.
